Norfolk Chiropractor | Dr. Mark Haynes
The road to chiropractic…
Doctor after doctor told me to expect surgery. In what should have been a safe game of flag football I had managed to badly damage two discs in my spine. The pain was like nothing I had experienced before. A very humbling experience for an athletic, aspiring chiropractor in his twenties.
Not content to submit to surgery without exhausting all options I found a low force method of chiropractic adjusting that had me walking in one week and back to my normal activities in three months. That experience has driven me to be a constant learner – always on the look out for safe and effective spinal adjusting techniques.
Chiropractic Education
Dr. Mark began his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Western Ontario where he studied the basic sciences such as physics, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.
After completing his study there, he was accepted at Life College of Chiropractic in Atlanta, Georgia. During his four years at Life, courses included biochemistry, microbiology, a major emphasis on human anatomy and physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life College Public Clinic. After graduating in 1998 Dr. Mark moved to Virginia Beach, the home of his wife to be, to establish his practice.
Dr. Mark contends that patients are in charge of their own health care.
Dr. Mark is married to Dr. C, who runs the Virginia Beach location of Coastal Chiropractic. They have one child, Hannah, born at home on March 18, 2006.
Now, I continue to enjoy the health benefits of this wonderful adjusting style and am proud to share it with a patient base that ranges from newborns to seniors in their 90’s.
